This Reliance 12M is waiting for her next captain to experience the true love and adrenaline rush of high performance sailing The design specifications that Steve Killing worked on were to design a racer/sailor and to make it strong, fun and a pleasure to sail, whether racing seriously, or just enjoying being on the water. While sisterships have been raced extensively and successfully throughout Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean, this gem has never been raced and truly is pristine. She has only been used as a demonstrator and for enjoyable Sunday afternoons on the water. There is a separate helm cockpit with a large 40" wheel and a large crew cockpit with teak seats that fold away for racing. Below is a foldaway tilting chart table and gimballed butane stove. She has a 7/8 fractional rig with Harken roller furling recessed into the deck. Her small jib is set up for the self-tacking system, the main runs up on a BattCar system and she has a 28:1 manual backstay adjuster. Sail inventory includes a 2 reef main, 153 genoa, 100 jib, 83 self-tacking jib, and a TR radial genneker, all of which are North Sails. All winches are self-tailing. She would make an amazing club racer for "going around the cans" on a Wednesday night or to set the courses on fire on the LORC circuit. There is also a custom 2-axle trailer equipped with a removable mast rack and a hydraulic bracing system that allows for complete and easy bottom cleaning and painting.
