This site and its many sister sites are operated by Bill Gordon, an avid Georgian Bay boater who's background in sales/ web marketing and daily work in the IT/WEB/WIRELESS industry allowed him to create this resource for fellow boaters.
Based out of Midland, Ontario Canada, Canada Boat Shopper has evolved from a hobby, created to help teach young marketing students how to create a new brand and get it online and to the same search engine rank as long-established web businesses in only 9 months. Created out of a need for an affordable and yet highly effective advertising medium for the private (sell it yourself) market, Bill wanted to offer the same kinds of services, search engine marketing and features that were only available for much more money or only to brokers. With only two other real competitors in Canada, there was room for improvement in what was available to private sellers and the small dealer/broker who turned to these types of sites to reach the online consumer.
Bill's vision is for a diverse site that features an eclectic blend of dealer listings, private listings and listings where a dealer has been engaged but where the owner has the option of advertising and selling the boat themselves.
Canada Boat Shopper is the result of this vision and is rapidly growing in popularity. A resource suited equally to dealer, brokerages and private sellers who all share the same desire. Buy and sell quality used boats and marine accessories and leverage the power of well-built and well-indexed (by search engines) websites with plenty of unique traffic and lead generating potential.
In only one year, Canada Boat Shopper has grown to compete directly with BoatCan and Boatdealers for search engine rank, traffic and listings, all the while offering a unique and affordable service to consumers and boat brokers alike. While we have no illusions about having people stop using these other sites, we will continue to entice and seize as much market share as the online consumer will allow by providing a superior web marketing vehicle and more value-added services. If you have to pick only two Canadian sites to use, we want to be one of those two and will work hard to earn that patronage.
